Hello all Turaton members and friends, we hope you had a great Xmas break & welcome to 2010

A.G.M. - Annual general meeting – Monday 1^st of February 2010

Turaton’s annual general meeting is on Monday, the 1^st of February, 2010 at ‘The Shed’, 252 Pyke Rd, Mooroopna at 7.30pm. We will hear the president’s report and then all positions will be declared vacant (president/ vice president/ secretary / treasurer & committee members).

Please bring something to share for supper afterwards, then Geoff will give us a short first practice for the May concert – please bring black folders.

May concert 2010

This is to be ‘Encores & Requests’. Geoff is already working on many great numbers and one very well known song is ‘The Bohemian Rhapsody’. Other new arrangements are; Good Vibrations, Autumn Concerto, Psalm 23, Sweet Caroline and Abba Dabba Honeymoon. This is sure to be magnificent and will be another memorable concert.

Practice will be on Monday’s at 7.30pm sharp for all from the 8th of February 2010 and alternate Wednesdays for women & men, beginning Wednesday the 10th of February with the women.

DVD of Naudeville

Ian and Moira Campbell have again taped the show for us and are putting it onto DVD. The cost is a very reasonable $10. Please phone Moira on 03 5857 2568 or email on cruachan@mcmedia.com.au to order.

Vacancies – Turaton committee positions

No pay but lots of satisfaction knowing you are helping an organisation of great people do something they love. If you have never been on a committee before don’t worry, there are always some experienced hands to guide you so you won’t be over your head. It is healthy for organisations to have some new faces on the committee each year, to bring in fresh ideas and share the load.

Personally, I have enjoyed my time on the committee with such a wonderful group of people and have found it a great learning experience. We generally have 10 meetings a year, which have been on the 3^rd Tuesday each month, but the committee can change it to suit.

If you wish to nominate for any position(s) nominations can be accepted on the night but it is preferred if you put your nomination in writing stating the position nominated and have it seconded by a member, then post to: Turaton, PO Box 61, Mooroopna, 3629

We would appreciate if nominations can be posted by Monday the 25^th of January at the latest.
