Turaton Tattler

March 2009

May concert

The rehearsals are going well for our May concert “At the Movies”.  Geoff has again assembled a great program, which will include songs from Saturday Night Fever, High School Musical, Titanic, Chariots of Fire and Mamma Mia, plus many more great numbers.  The choir members are practising hard and are quite excited by the very memorable songs, which will no doubt thrill the audiences.  I have even heard a rumour that “Elvis” is making an appearance – make sure you don’t miss it.

New Committee

Welcome to Heather Ponting, taking a major role as our new President and Elaine King as a new committee member.  Many thanks also to Rob Miller as our retiring President.

Thanks

Thanks to Jeff Ponting for cutting the grass around the car park.  This makes the area much nicer for the members when they are traversing from their cars to the shed.

Thanks also for the chair donations – making our members a little more comfortable at practice.

Working bee

A working bee will be held at “The Shed” on Saturday 28th of March from 1.30pm for a couple of hours.  It would be greatly appreciated if we could get four able bodied men.  The work will involve some minor repairs and maintenance.  Ph Rod Mauger 03 5825 4001 for more info.

RSL Tatura

The RSL in Tatura have extended a welcome for all singers to be at their Anzac Day service, beginning at 11.00am on Saturday, 25th of April, 2009.  Please be there by 10.30am if you wish to participate.

Past shows

Jeff Baker has access to LP records of Turaton’s performance of Die Fledermaus (1972) and The Gypsy Baron (1971).  He has kindly offered to transfer to CDs if anyone is interested.  Phone Jeff  on 03 5824 2065.
